The leisure pool at the Comox Valley Aquatic Centre is closed temporarily after repeated sanitation concerns over the past several weeks.
The Comox Valley Regional District says multiple fecal incidents resulted in repeated shutdowns and super-chlorination treatments.
To maintain safety for families, staff, and regular swimmers, the pool needs to be completely drained, refilled, and chemically rebalanced.
The closure is expected to last until Thursday, November 27th.
Residents are being reminded of guidelines that can help prevent future shutdowns - including showering before entering the pool, reminding children about bathroom use, and ensuring proper swim diapers are used when needed.
