The Comox Valley Aquatic Centre and Comox Valley Sports Centre will be reopening September 2 under the fall schedule.

Over the summer months, the Aquatic Centre had a roof replacement, slide refurbishment and front door replacements.

Jennifer Zbinden, Senior Manager of Recreation Services, says the Sports Centre received a new dehumidifier in Arena 1 and received yearly maintenance, painting, and cleaning.

The recreation team completes maintenance shutdowns to update infrastructure and complete required facility maintenance.

This year, the CVRD staggered the shutdowns to ensure that one facility is always open.

Both facilities are closed on Saturday, Sunday, and Monday and will re-open on Tuesday, September 2 with the fall schedule in effect.
