Arrive early, check-in online, and hitch a ride to and from; a few tips from the Comox Valley Airport as it gets set to handle thousands of customers a day, on this last weekend before Christmas.
It is the busiest time of year at the airport - seeing a thousand passengers a day right into the new year.
The airport says 2022 saw passenger volumes remaining slightly below pre-pandemic levels, but the Christmas season will be a busy one, so it’s best to be prepared.
One of the benefits of arriving early allows you to check out Mindful Travel, featuring new works by local artists as it brings Comox Valley Arts back for the winter season.
The exhibit runs through to mid-April.
Mindful Travel showcases artworks in a variety of media from artists across the region.
The works can also be viewed on the Airport’s website if you can’t make it in person.
