Anyone interested in becoming a firefighter in Comox will have an opportunity to learn more about the role during an upcoming recruitment open house.

Comox Fire Rescue is currently seeking new recruits and will open the doors of its Noel Avenue fire station to prospective applicants on Tuesday, October 20.

Visitors will be able to speak directly with current firefighters, tour the department’s trucks and equipment and watch live training demonstrations.

Department staff will also provide information about firefighter training, compensation and what applicants can expect throughout the recruitment process.

Attendees will have an opportunity to ask questions and learn more about the responsibilities and commitment involved in serving as a firefighter.

The recruitment open house will run from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m. at the Comox Fire Station, located at 1870 Noel Avenue.
