Comox Council has approved the 2022-2026 Strategic Plan.
It’s meant as a blueprint for council to follow throughout council’s four-year term.
The plan includes a focus on fiscal planning for infrastructure additions and replacement, and staff retention, along with enhancements in recreation, parks, arts and culture.
The top projects highlighted in the plan include the design and construction of a new
pump track to enhance youth recreation, a focus on parks and urban planning,
completing a “Downtown Action Plan,” including Comox Marina, and the completion of a
“Climate Change Risk Assessment.”
Comox Mayor Nicole Minions says, ‘’the work highlighted in our new plan is ambitious yet balanced to recognize the challenges with a growing community.”
Council also identified a new vision, which commits to “maintaining and enhancing the
quality of life for all residents, businesses, and visitors through investment in active
transportation, infrastructure, parks, recreation, arts and culture,’’ with an aim ‘’to provide a
vibrant, safe, sustainable environment and community with disciplined urban planning
and communications.”
