The Comox Community Centre is inviting residents to get active and celebrate both Move for Health Day and Mother’s Day on Sunday.
The centre will offer a pair of free “try-it” programs, along with a low-cost wellness workshop aimed at helping people move more comfortably and stay active.
The day begins with family gym time from 8:30 to 10 a.m., followed by an indoor cycling session from 10 until 11.
There will also be a corrective exercise workshop starting at 11:30 a.m. Participants will learn how to identify muscle imbalances and help prevent injuries.
Move for Health Day is an international initiative created by the World Health Organization to encourage physical activity and healthy living.
Organizers say the event is also a chance for families to spend time together for Mother’s Day, whether that means joining a class together or giving mom a relaxing morning break.
