Books of condolence are available for British Columbians to express their sympathies and messages of support following the tragic events in Tumbler Ridge.

Community members may sign a book of condolence at the Hall of Honour, Parliament Buildings, Victoria.

The book will be accessible on weekdays from 8:30 a.m. until 4:30 p.m., until Friday.

An online condolence book is also available at Tumbler Ridge Tragedy Condolence Book.

The Province says the online book is the easiest and most convenient way for people to pay respects.

It will remain open until the end of day on Friday, February 20, 2026.

Keeping Our Word

The word "éy7á7juuthem" means “Language of our People” and is the ancestral tongue of the Homalco, Tla’amin, Klahoose and K’ómoks First Nations, with dialectic differences in each community.

It is pronounced "eye-ya-jooth-hem."
