If you’ve ever thought of what it might be like to work as a 911 dispatcher, there’s something for you next week.

RCMP dispatchers are a pivotal part of the policing response for Campbell River and the North Island Operational Communication Centre (OCC) based out of Courtenay/Comox.

The centre is on the hunt for people who may be interested in becoming a dispatcher or just want to know more about the world of RCMP 911 dispatching.

On Monday, February 27th, 2023, between 10:30 am and 2:30 pm, The Island Grind Coffee Shop at the Discovery Harbour Shopping Centre will be hosting "Coffee with a Dispatcher".

Jaclyn Tremblett, a recruiter with the Island's 911 Police Dispatch team will be on hand to answer questions for anyone interested in the vital role RCMP dispatchers play every day.

To request a time to meet Jaclyn, email her directly at e_911recruiting_isld@rcmp-grc.gc.ca.
