Over the weekend the First Open Heart Society of BC’s Campbell River Branch presented the 35th Annual Walk for Hearts!

$9,400 was raised, with more being counted on late donations so the Society expects to raise $10,000.

The Society will be using some of those funds for patient support for cardiac patients who need the financial help to go to Victoria or Vancouver for appointments, procedures and surgeries.

They are also purchasing cardiac Holter Monitors for the Electro-diagnostic Department in the Campbell River Hospital.

Keeping Our Word

The word "éy7á7juuthem" means “Language of our People” and is the ancestral tongue of the Homalco, Tla’amin, Klahoose and K’ómoks First Nations, with dialectic differences in each community.

It is pronounced "eye-ya-jooth-hem."
