The City of Courtenay with a warning for people who use the newly opened Dingwall Steps.
Staff say the concrete is simply too fresh to apply their usual de-ice formula without causing permanent damage to the steps.
Signage regarding winter conditions has been posted on site. In the event of snowfall, the steps will be fully closed until staff can manually clear them – typically within 48 hours of a snowfall.
