The City of Courtenay issued a statement last night regarding a town councillor being placed on leave.
The City says Councillor David Frisch is on mandatory leave of absence pursuant to the requirements of sections 109.1 through 109.3 of the Community Charter.
The section applies to a Council member who is charged with an offence under the criminal code.
The City says as the matter is before the courts, no further comment will be issued until the matter has been resolved.
