Adults won’t be the only ones heading to the polls in Courtenay this October, as the city is bringing back its Kids’ Vote with a pretty important decision on the ballot.
Young voters will get to help choose a new name for Courtenay’s Recreation Bus.
Kids are being invited to submit their best, funniest or most creative names at the Lewis Centre until September 25th.
The City will then select some of its favourite submissions to appear on the official Kids’ Vote ballot.
Children accompanying their parents or guardians to vote on October 7th, 14th or 17th will be able to cast a ballot of their own and help decide the winning name.
Once the votes are counted, Courtenay’s Recreation Bus will have a brand-new name — chosen with a little help from some of the city’s youngest voters.
