Beginning Monday, April 8, 2024, the City of Courtenay begins flushing water mains in part of east Courtenay.
Flushing is planned on weekdays between 8:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. through to April 30, but individual homes or businesses will only be affected for short periods of time - generally about an hour.
The Village of Cumberland, and other spots throughout the area will be doing the same at various times.
During flushing hours, households may experience temporary, short-term water pressure fluctuations, along with cloudy water or discolouration.
After flushing, run your taps for a bit until the water clears.
It’s best to keep showers, washers, and dishwashers off while work is being done.
