Time is running out for Campbell River residents to have their say as the City is looking to update its Official Community Plan.

The OCP is a community's strategic vision for the future, guiding how neighbourhoods are designed, how people move around, how land is used, and what amenities the City provides.

You can visit Get Involved Campbell River to complete a survey before the end of the day on Thursday.

The last comprehensive review of Campbell River’s OCP took place in 2012, with minor updates made in 2015.

Since that time, Campbell River has seen rapid growth, which is expected to continue over the next several years.

Campbell River is home to around 35,000 residents and in the next 20 years, the city’s population is expected to grow to around 42,000.

The City says it is crucial that planning starts now so that the necessary infrastructure, parks, and amenities are in place to support this growth.

Keeping Our Word

The word "éy7á7juuthem" means “Language of our People” and is the ancestral tongue of the Homalco, Tla’amin, Klahoose and K’ómoks First Nations, with dialectic differences in each community.

It is pronounced "eye-ya-jooth-hem."
