Friday, August 21, 2026 at 7:57 AM

Pride in the Park is happening at Lewis Park from 12pm to 330pm on Saturday, August 29th.

Comox Valley Pride is around the corner.

Pride in the Park is happening at Lewis Park from 12pm to 330pm on Saturday, August 29th.

The LINC Youth Centre is celebrating with three events that bring youth, friends, allies and community members together through swimming, music, art, skateboarding and community connection.

Events run from Thursday, August 27, to Saturday, August 29, and are designed to help participants celebrate Pride in safe, inclusive spaces where everyone can come as they are.

Allie Parry, Community Youth Development Supervisor, says Pride Week at The LINC is about creating spaces where young people feel welcome, supported and free to be themselves.

On Thursday, the Pride Swim is happening at the Courtenay Outdoor Pool from 530pm to 730pm. It’s an inclusive swim with a live DJ, gender-inclusive and private change rooms, and lots of fun. All-ages and allies are welcome.

Next Friday night, people can meet at The LINC before heading to Pulse in the Plaza, from 5pm to 9pm. Hosted by Comox Valley Arts, the night features live music, art and community activities, including live bands, screen printing and the Art Wagon.

On Saturday, August 29, from 230pm to 430pm, it's the Pride in the Park skateboarding session. Queer folks and allies of all skill levels are welcome.

Keeping Our Word

The word "éy7á7juuthem" means “Language of our People” and is the ancestral tongue of the Homalco, Tla’amin, Klahoose and K’ómoks First Nations, with dialectic differences in each community.

It is pronounced "eye-ya-jooth-hem."
