The first of three candidate information sessions is taking place Monday night ahead of the October 2026 general local elections.

The virtual session, hosted by Elections BC, goes from 630pm to 8pm and focuses on financing and advertising rules.

On August 13th, a local session will offer interested candidates an opportunity to learn about the role of an elected official and ask questions.

It is being hosted jointly by the Village of Cumberland, the City of Courtenay, and the CVRD.

Individuals may attend in-person in the CVRD Civic Room or online via Zoom video webinar.

There will also be a session on August 26 for those considering a run as a school trustee.
