The City of Campbell River is putting out the call for local entrepreneurs to join The Rail Yard Market in the downtown core.
Now heading into its second year, The Rail Yard Market has already built strong momentum, with a popular clothing retailer and a diverse artisanal collective attracting steady foot traffic.
The City says it’s looking to add new vendors to bring even more variety and energy to the space.
Short-term leases are available and reviewed annually, with current vendors eligible to reapply.
Applications are being accepted on an ongoing basis, with the next review set for mid-March.
The next available lease begins May 1, and additional openings are expected in 2027.
If those spots fill up, a waitlist will be created.
Kimberley Worthington, the City’s Economic Development and Tourism Manager, says the goal is to continue building a supportive business community in the heart of downtown.
She says the focus is not just on filling empty spaces, but on creating a collaborative environment where vendors can learn from one another and grow together.
The Rail Yard Market operates as a business incubator program, offering affordable retail space along with structured mentorship and hands-on business education.
While vendor spaces are limited, all local businesses are encouraged to build their skills and join the vendor waitlist.
