A Campbell River business is celebrating a new milestone.
Campbell River Whale Watching & Adventure Tours has obtained the Biosphere Certified distinction.
It recognizes the efforts made by the company to meet the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of the 2030 Agenda established by the United Nations.
Co-owner Stephen Gabrysh says the whole team believes in and are committed to Regenerative Tourism. He says sustainability is factored into every decision they make.
Gabrysh says fewer than a dozen companies on Vancouver Island have the distinction and says their commitment to continuing doing their part towards a guarantee of an economic, socio-cultural, and environmental balance is stronger than ever.
Founded in 2008, the company is part of the Campbell River Adventure Tours Group which now includes: Wildcoast Adventures, Campbell River Whale Watching, and Discovery Marine Safaris.
