The Campbell River Volunteer Search and Rescue team were called out to the Mt. Kitchener area last weekend to help an injured skier.
The team says it credits the skier for making their job easier.
In a post on their Facebook page, the team says the skier was well prepared, with a satellite SOS system.
They say the sunlight made it a very straightforward locate and assist, despite the remote and challenging terrain.
“It’s absolutely essential for a timely response in this sort of environment,” said Dylan Baker of the CRSAR.
The post reminds everyone to always have a plan in place for how to call for help, and know when to use it.
