The four suspects who were arrested after an erratic driving complaint led police into a robbery investigation a week ago have now been formally charged.
“The successful apprehension of these offenders would not have been possible without the assistance and cooperation between the Comox Valley and Campbell River RCMP, BC Highway Patrol, the Island District Emergency Response Team, Police Dog Services and RCMP Air Services.”, said Constable Monika Terragni, Media Relations Officer, Comox Valley RCMP.
23-year old James Daniel, 18-year old Leonardo Gega, 20-year old Sijuola Obatusa and 18-year old Milisav Bogetic were all charged with robbery using a firearm.
The suspects, all from the Lower Mainland, will be appearing in court again on November 20th.
Comox Valley RCMP received a complaint of erratic driving last Monday morning with one vehicle chasing another on Highway 19 near Black Creek.
A major police response ensued after a caller told police that this may be the result of an armed robbery.
No further updates will be provided as the case moves through the Court system.
Police say it was a targeted incident.
