Campbell River Fire Fighters were called into help battle a big blaze in Gold River on the weekend.
Two mobile homes were destroyed and five more were damaged early on Saturday morning.
At least one other will have to be demolished.
Residents were already knocking on doors and fighting the flames with garden hoses by the time crews arrived on the scene.
Gold River Fire then made the call to Campbell River for assistance.
Officials say one dog was unable to escape the flames but there were, luckily, no other injuries.
Affected residents were relocated to a hotel, but housing in the community isn't easy to find.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
