The Campbell River Farmers Market is celebrating 25 years of bringing farmers, makers, food producers, and the community together.

Organizers are inviting residents to help mark the milestone with a special community dinner.

The event is happening Sunday, September 13th, from 5 to 7 p.m. on Shoppers Row.

Organizers are planning a long harvest table beneath tents, where neighbours can sit down together and share a meal featuring food grown and produced by market vendors.

The Farmers Market says the evening is an opportunity to bring people together around the table while highlighting local farmers, food producers, and businesses.

Organizers are hoping to serve 300 meals in total.

That includes 200 ticketed guests, along with complimentary meals for community members who might not otherwise be able to attend, with the goal of making the event inclusive and give everyone a place at the table.

People are encouraged to bring their own plates and cutlery to help reduce waste, but organizers say they'll have supplies available for anyone who can't bring their own.

Tickets can be purchased in person at the Farmers Market on September 6th, or at Tidemark Theatre.
