The Executive Director of the North Island Employment Foundations Society has been named Leader of the Year for Workforce Development in British Columbia for 2025.
Shannon Baikie earned the honour from C-Suite Insider - a platform dedicated to providing insights into the world of top executives and corporate leadership.
The recognition is for her leadership in advancing career development and community economic growth through her work with NIEFS.
Baikie has been with the organization since 2009, following more than a decade in the tech start-up sector.
She holds a master’s degree in community economic development from the University of Victoria and is a nationally certified career development practitioner.
C-Suite says that with more than 25 years of experience in both private and non-profit sectors, Baikie is known for her collaborative approach and her dedication to helping people, businesses, and communities thrive.
NIEFS Marketing Coordinator, Colleen Wilson, says the honour reflects Baikie’s exceptional leadership and her commitment to building a stronger, more inclusive economy on northern Vancouver Island.
