Campbell River City Council’s meeting schedule is getting a little lighter as the municipal election approaches.
The City has cancelled the Committee of the Whole meeting that was scheduled for Tuesday, October 6, at 10:30 a.m.
Officials say there are currently no staff-generated reports to bring forward for consideration, with Campbell River voters preparing to head to the polls in the 2026 Local Government Election on October 17.
Committee of the Whole meetings provide councillors with an opportunity for broader strategic discussion and early consideration of matters before they are potentially referred to Council for a formal decision.
While Tuesday’s meeting will not go ahead, the next Regular Council meeting remains scheduled for Thursday, October 8, at 6 p.m. in Council Chambers at City Hall, located at 301 St. Ann’s Road.
Members of the public can attend the meeting in person or watch the livestream through the City’s website.
Archived webcasts are also posted online following meetings and are indexed by agenda item.
