On Saturday, the Campbell River Beacon Club will host its annual ‘Hats off for Mental Health’ Fundraising Walk at Spirit Square in Campbell River.
Proceeds will benefit the club, which describes itself as a safe, non-judgmental clubhouse for those diagnosed with a chronic mental illness to rediscover or learn how to interact with others, learn life skills, learn coping strategies and be with others who have faced similar obstacles, such as depression, anxiety, PTSD, OCD, bi-polar disorder, and other challenges.
It’s being held from 11am-2pm and donations of cash or debit will be greatly accepted.
If you have refundable drink containers, bring them down as well - they'll do the sorting!
There’ll be live music by the band ‘Inclusion’, a 50/50 draw, silent auction, prizes for the most outlandish hats, hot dog & drink sales by donation, a bouncy castle by donation & much more.
