The City of Campbell River Fire Department is putting the push on to train new firefighters.
It’s now accepting applications for the 2023 Paid-on-Call Firefighter Training Program.
A free-to-attend paid-on-call firefighter information session will take place next week at the Sportsplex.
Fire Chief Dan Verdu says paid-on-call firefighters are essential members of the Department, serving as part of a diverse team that faces and overcomes challenges to support the community.
The information session will provide an overview of the recruitment process and training program, time commitments and expectations, services provided by the fire department, and an overview of the job itself.
The session runs next Thursday night, starting at 630pm, at the Sportsplex.
