It’s been a busy week for the Courtenay Fire Department.
Crews responded to two fires within an hour and a half Wednesday.
The first, a grass fire at a homeless encampment off Comox Logging Road.
Officials are still working on the cause of that fire, but it's believed to have been started by a campsite fire.
While crews were battling that fire, another call came in about a blaze on a pathway off Piercy Avenue and 8th Street.
It appears a passerby put that grass fire out with an extinguisher, but crews attended the scene to clean up the mess and check for hot spots.
There were no injuries reported in either incident.
