It's been a busy few days for the BC Wildfire Service.
The service says close to 35-thousand lightning strikes were counted across the province over a four day period.
Despite the increase in wildfire starts, each of B.C.’s six regional fire centres have reported high initial attack success following the last several days of lightning and higher winds.
The service is predicting more stable weather this week. A spokesperson says rising temperatures and less convection are expected, which means much less lightning activity for the week ahead.
Close to 18-hundred lightning strikes between last Wednesday and Saturday were responsible for more than 100 fires which were ignited across the province.
As of Sunday night, about 70 percent of all of those ignited by the strikes were classified as out, under control or being held.
