Sources familiar with negotiations say BC Government workers could serve 72-hour strike notice as early as tomorrow. The General Employees' Union represents 33-thousand workers in the province, who voted 95 percent in favour of strike action last month as they look for a new contract.
Negotiations broke down more than a month ago after workers rejected a deal which offered an 11 percent pay increase over three years. At the time, the union said it was looking for a cost of living adjustment clause to keep up with inflation.
The union has until September 20th to take job action.
