US President Donald Trump has announced tariffs on the auto industry - ready to place a 25 percent tariff on all automobiles heading into the United States.
Premier David Eby, in a post on X, said as part of Team Canada, British Columbia stands with provinces impacted by “these unjustified tariffs and fully support any response to answer this attack on our country.”
Trump’s actions, Eby said, will hurt hard working people on both sides of the border.
Prime Minister Mark Carney said yesterday the move is a direct threat to Canadian auto workers, and Canada will defend them.
