BC Ferries is trialing a new Commercial Saver fare on select sailings on the Vancouver – Victoria and the Vancouver - Nanaimo routes from now through October 12.

BC Ferries is trialing a new Commercial Saver fare on select sailings on the Vancouver – Victoria and the Vancouver - Nanaimo routes from now through October 12.

The Commercial Saver fare is ideal for customers who have the flexibility to travel during less busy sailing times, can book in advance and want travel certainty. Availability is limited on select sailings and fares are expected to sell out. Commercial Saver fares are not available for purchase at drive-up terminal ticket booths.  BC Ferries charges commercial vehicles per foot of length of the unit. The rate for these special fares will be $4.71 per foot. The current rate per foot on the major routes is $7.03 per foot.

Commercial Saver fares are designed to encourage commercial vehicle customers to take advantage of off-peak sailings, freeing up space at more popular sailing times for other vehicles.

This will help to spread vehicle traffic throughout the day, reducing sailing waits for all customers. If the trial is successful, BC Ferries will announce more Commercial Saver fare discounts in the future.
