BC Ferries has announced a series of pricing adjustments, including expanded discount fares on some routes.
However, the changes come alongside increases to fares, parking, food, and no-show fees.
The company says the adjustments are necessary to manage demand and cover rising operational costs and fall in line with the 3.2% system-wide annual increase approved by the BC Ferries Commissioner.
Beginning April 1st, drive-up fares on major routes will increase by $0.90 for an adult and $7.60 for a standard vehicle.
Minor route fares will see smaller hikes of $0.25 to $0.50 for passengers and $2.00 for vehicles.
BC Ferries frames this as an effort to encourage advance booking.
Other price increases include a $5 hike in no-show fees for Saver and Prepaid fares, bringing the total to $10. Parking rates will also rise based on location.
Food and beverage prices will see a 3.5% increase.
More details on fare adjustments can be found at BC Ferries.
