BC has opened up its fall immunization campaign against influenza and COVID-19.
Pharmacists say they have already seen an increase in demand for pharmacy-administered vaccinations.
Vaccines are available in participating pharmacies, health-authority clinics, and some primary-care providers’ offices throughout the province.
In an update earlier this month, the BC Centre for Disease Control said infections had risen from 133 to 877 in two weeks in late September, while hospitalizations increased 58 percent.
24 people died over the same time period, compared to nine deaths in the second week of August.
