New waste collection carts are rolling out in the Comox Valley this week.

Residents who have received their new carts can now start using them - just make sure to leave at least a meter between containers for easier pick up for the crews.

Between January 15 and February 2, City of Courtenay residents who do not want to or are not able to reuse their old collection containers can donate them.

You can leave them behind the new automated carts for pick up - again starting January 15th.

Residents can also drop their old containers at Public Works on McKenzie Ave – from January 15 to February 10 - where residents can also pick up used containers for themselves.

Town of Comox residents will be able to drop their used carts off - or find some to repurpose - at the west parking lot of Comox Marina Park, near the boat launch, between January 6th to 13th.

At the end of the campaign, any remaining containers will be shipped to Merlin Plastics for recycling.
