A longtime leader in the local fire service is set to retire.
Assistant Fire Chief Jim Lariviere is retiring after a 32-year career, including more than 25 years of full-time service as Assistant Fire Chief.
Lariviere is being recognized for an outstanding career marked by education, service, and leadership, and for being a pillar of strength within the community.
A public retirement celebration is planned for tomorrow (Friday), from 12 to 4 p.m. at the Comox Fire Hall.
Community members are invited to attend and help mark the occasion. Coffee, cake, and light snacks will be served during the event.
