Advance Voting Beginning Today

By Jay Herrington

Advance voting begins today in British Columbia’s Provincial election.2024 BC Election Voting Places

It runs until Sunday, and then again on Tuesday and Wednesday next week. There will be nothing scheduled on Thanksgiving Monday.
Final Voting Day is scheduled for Saturday, October 19th.

Not all advance voting places are open every day of the advance voting period, so you’re being asked to check your Where to Vote card or visit 2024 BC Election Voting Places to find advance voting places and the dates they are open.

Where to Vote cards, mailed out to every registered voter in the province, list the voting places that are usually most convenient for voters.

Voters can, however, vote at any other voting place in the province. You  are encouraged to bring your Where to Vote card with you when you vote, and all voters must prove their identity and residential address.

Voters have an assigned voting place on Final Voting Day, but you can vote at another location if it’s more convenient for you.

To ensure your voter registration is up to date, visit www.elections.bc.ca/register or call 1-800-661-8683.

There are 93 electoral districts for the 2024 provincial election, up from 87 in the 2020 vote.

Elections BC will publish advance voting turnout statistics throughout the advance voting period.

Keeping Our Word

The word "éy7á7juuthem" means “Language of our People” and is the ancestral tongue of the Homalco, Tla’amin, Klahoose and K’ómoks First Nations, with dialectic differences in each community.

It is pronounced "eye-ya-jooth-hem."
