A powerful earthquake off the southern coast of Alaska triggered a tsunami warning for a large area yesterday afternoon.
The 7.3 magnitude quake struck shortly after 130pm Wednesday.
A notice was issued early on that there was no tsunami threat for British Columbia.
About an hour after the earthquake, the threat was cancelled for about 11-kilometers of Alaskan coastline.
