Habitat for Humanity has released the totals raised through its 2024 Matching Donation Challenge.
Kicking off on Giving Tuesday in December, the fundraiser brought in a total of $56,440.
Christoph Real Estate Group agreed to double donation contributions, up to $5,000, throughout December.
Habitat VIN says that allows contributions to go twice as far, helping the team raise more funds for affordable housing and making an even bigger difference in the community.
The group made sure to thank all the volunteers who worked at their donation tables at the Comox Valley and Campbell River ReStores.
“At Habitat, we couldn’t be more grateful. The support we are seeing in our community is changing lives, and together, we are making homeownership a reality for families.”
Habitat also wants to point out that the postal strike affected non-profits and small businesses all across Canada.
To alleviate some of its impacts, the federal government extended the deadline for making donations eligible for tax support in the 2024 tax year until February 28th.
