The 37th Annual Walk for Hearts, in support of the First Open Heart Society of BC, goes this Sunday.
It's a fun family walk, from Willow Point Hall north along the Sea Walk, and back.
The Society's primary function is to raise money to help heart patients travel to Vancouver, Victoria & beyond for treatments, surgeries and appointments related to cardiac care, with their main focus on children.
This year’s walk is dedicated to members Roy Johnson and Mary Schmitke.
Registration is at 1230pm with the walk starting at 1pm.
There will be refreshments, prizes, a 50/50 draw & more.
To date the Campbell River Branch of the First Open Heart Society has donated $385,067 for cardiac equipment for Campbell River Hospital which includes funding for nurses’ & technicians’ education in cardiac courses.
The First Open Heart Society of BC Campbell River branch is proud to be listed as the second highest donor on the plaque in the lobby of the hospital.
