The Island ride, which concluded on Friday, October 7th, raised over $1, 000, 000 for pediatric cancer research, well over its goal of $600, 000.

A big donation from students at a Saanich school surprised even them on Friday, helping put things over the top.
Reynolds Secondary School has been helping raise money for the charity for 18 years and had set a goal of $54, 000 this year. They smashed that by raising more than $110, 000.
The Tour de Rock started in Port Alice on September 24th, with riders cycling 12-hundred kilometres to the steps of the BC legislature on Friday.
