19 Wing Comox Holding National Search And Rescue Exercise This Month

19 Wing Comox is gearing up to host 100 CAF members, and about 60 American personnel from the U.S. Coast Guard, and U.S. Navy with the National Search and Rescue Exercise coming up in a couple weeks.


Together, 22 squadrons and units will be using 18 aircraft and will respond to over 60 simulated search and rescue scenarios from September 22 to 26.
International participants from Brazil, Spain, and Chile, and will also be in attendance.

On Friday, Sept. 26, a large-scale scenario will take place in Comox at Air Force Beach and the surrounding waters.

The beach will be closed that day and residents can expect to see aircraft and rescue teams in the area.
