A heads up for pedestrians and cyclists in Courtenay for next week.
Crews will be working on various sections of the sidewalks along 17th St. Monday through Thursday from 8:30am-4:30pm daily, weather permitting.
They’ll be doing some touch-up work that will require the closure of the sidewalk and bike lane adjacent to each work area.
Intermittent disruptions to vehicle traffic are also expected, with occasional single-lane alternating traffic.
The concrete repairs in that section, the City notes, are under warranty, and will help with longevity.
Improvements on 17th Street between Fitzgerald and Willemar Avenues were completed in November, making the link in the Comox Valley’s active transportation network safer and more accessible for people who walk, cycle, and roll.
The $1.72 million project was funded through federal and provincial grants.
