More Information (CKCC The Raven 100.7 is not responsible for external websites)
Community members will gather to honor workers who’ve been killed, injured, or suffered illness as a result of work-related incidents. The day serves as a reminder of the importance of workplace safety and the ongoing commitment to preventing future injuries and fatalities. In 2025, 138 BC workers died from a workplace injury or disease, with each loss leaving behind devastated family & friends. Events feature moments of silence, guest speakers & more. In Courtenay, events begin at 10am at the Lewis Centre outdoor stage. For details on the Day of Mourning, including a list of other ceremonies around BC, visit Day of Mourning.
