Saturday & Sunday, January 3rd & 4th, the Courtenay Volunteer Fire Department holds their annual Christmas Tree Collection & Chipping fundraiser.

Trees must have all decorations, tree stands & any plastics removed. They’ll chip the trees for a minimum $5 donation. Drop trees at the Hall on Cumberland Road, Home Depot in Courtenay, or call the fire department, at 250-334-25-13, for at-home pickup, available for all areas served by the Courtenay Fire Department, including fire protection districts. It’s from 10-2 both days, with proceeds benefiting various local charities. For pickups, call 250-334-2513 or email fireevents@courtenay.ca.
