They’re expanding their entertainment program that schedules performers for 1-hour monthly shows at their Centre, where participants thoroughly enjoy dancing & singing along with local acts like The Oldtime Fiddlers who volunteer regularly. Beaufort Participants will judge who makes it through the audition to volunteer your musical/entertainment talents or receive a $100 honorarium per 1 hour performance monthly on a rotating basis or for a 1-time event at the Centre.

Beaufort Association for Inclusion in Action is the longest running service provider for people with disabilities in the Comox Valley. Founded in in the late 1950s by a group of parents, teachers, and friends who sought to provide supportive services for families in the Comox Valley to end the custom of sending children with developmental disabilities away to institutions.

In 1988, Beaufort Association was awarded a contract to provide ‘community-based day services’ for fifteen adults, which took the form of the Quest Personal Development Program. In 1990, the Ministry of Social Services asked the Association to take on an additional day program, the Community Options Program, which serves approximately eighteen adults. Both Programs continue to operate with partial funding by Community Living BC.

Auditions are from 10am-2pm. You must register by May 13th with Cynthia Shore, the new Executive Director and CEO, by emailing: manager@beaufortassociation.ca or calling 778-585-4337.

Keeping Our Word

The word "éy7á7juuthem" means “Language of our People” and is the ancestral tongue of the Homalco, Tla’amin, Klahoose and K’ómoks First Nations, with dialectic differences in each community.
