Saturday, April 29th, it’s the 1st annual Cumberland Repair Café at Cumberland Community School.

The event provides an alternative for household items destined for the landfill to be repaired & reused for free. They’ve partnered with the Comox Strathcona Waste Management to help in their goal of biannual Repair Cafes in the Comox Valley. The Café’s looking for volunteers to help at the event. If you have expertise in fixing items like jewelry, small appliances, toys, or clothing, you can sign up as a volunteer. The Cumberland Community Schools Society is a registered charity that works to strengthen the community by improving access to healthy food, recreation, lifelong learning, and a network of support. The event’s from 11am-3pm, it’s free to attend & everyone’s welcome. For details, go to Cumberland Repair Café.
