The Strathcona Regional District, Quadra Island Emergency Program & Quadra Island Fire Department will co-host the Quadra Island Disaster Preparedness Expo. It’s a fun way to build community resilience & get your family better prepared for a disaster. You’ll be able to shop for disaster preparedness supplies, connect with organizations involved in disaster preparedness & response, learn how you can be better prepared for a disaster & be educated about disaster preparedness. The word "éy7á7juuthem" means “Language of our People” and is the ancestral tongue of the Homalco, Tla’amin, Klahoose and K’ómoks First Nations, with dialectic differences in each community.
It is pronounced "eye-ya-jooth-hem."
