Friday, February 3rd, it’s the 32nd annual World Community Hybrid Film Festival at the Sid Williams Theatre in Courtenay.

The festival showcases engaging & inspiring documentaries that highlight social & environmental justice stories from Canada & around the world. They’ll screen 2 films:
Before They Fall
2022, 40 minutes
Conservationists, some Indigenous groups, and scientists come together in this film, as a decades-long battle to protect endangered old-growth forests in BC escalates at Fairy Creek.
River
2022, 75 minutes
A breathtaking cinematic and musical odyssey that explores the intrinsic relationship between humans and rivers. Music by Richard Tognetti and the Australian Chamber Orchestra, Jonny Greenwood and Radiohead, with narration by Willem Dafoe.
