Sunday May 5th, the Campbell River Branch of the First Open Heart Society of BC presents their 37th Annual Walk for Hearts.
It’s a fun, family walk, from the Willow Point Hall north along the Sea Walk, then back. There’ll also be refreshments, prizes, a 50/50 draw & more. Participants either provide a donation or gather pledges from others to raise funds in support of cardiac patients from the North Island & Campbell River Hospital. Tax receipts will be provided. Registration’s at 12:30pm, the walk starts at 1pm, phone 250-287-3096 for pledge sheets & more information. This year’s event is dedicated to members Roy Johnson & Mary Schmitke.
To date the Campbell River Branch of the First Open Heart Society has donated $385,067 for cardiac equipment for our Campbell River Hospital which includes funding for nurses’ & technicians’ education in cardiac courses. The Society is also proud to be listed as the second highest donor on the plaque in the lobby of Campbell River hospital.
